Why CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and is a way for consumers to support local farms by purchasing a share of products before the season starts to help fund early season costs. In return, the consumer often gets a discount on their purchase. Signing up for a CSA helps us fund and plan our season by giving us up-front capital to purchase chicks, pay employees, make improvements or repairs to existing infrastructure, and purchase necessary supplies. In return, you get a discount & guaranteed availability on your meat for the season.

Over the years, our CSAs have been integral to our farm’s ability to weather the slower season and be able to fund the expenses we incur during that time. This year, we need to replace a lot of our electric poultry nets as they’ve seen their fair share of use and abuse over the last 7 years. We also have payroll expenses, pork and lamb processing expenses, packaging for chickens, chicks and feed ingredients to buy, and more. This is our most expense-intensive time of year and also our slowest time of year sales-wise. CSAs help us bridge the gap and continue operating during this time. If you are planning to shop with us in 2024, please consider buying a CSA soon! Thank you so much for supporting our farm!

JUMP TO 2024 WHOLE FARM CSA

JUMP TO 2024 BULK CHICKEN: PIECES & WHOLE

2024 Whole Chicken CSA

The details:

Our tried-and-true pick-up-throughout-the-season Whole Chicken CSA is back for its 7th year! Designed for people without extra freezer space or who don’t want to buy a bunch of chicken at once, our Whole Chicken CSA allows you to get your chickens at a discount and when you want them. Purchase 50# or 100# of bulk chickens and pick them up at your leisure at the farm or at the Bozeman farmers markets on Saturdays or Tuesdays. Our Whole Chicken CSA and bulk preorders are essential to our meat chicken production! They allows us to purchase chicks and supplies, pay our employees, and get the first chickens processed — all costs we incur before we have a single chicken to sell. This is the only time during the year that we offer our Whole Chicken CSA.

Please note: in order to avoid absorbing thousands in credit card fees, we prefer you pay via check or venmo. If you would like to pay with a credit or debit card and check out on the website, you can do so and pay the credit card fee.
